Policy on Staff Appointment

The institution follows a transparent and structured process for the appointment of staff and provides various service benefits to support their professional and personal well-being.
Appt. of Teaching Staff
  • Teaching staff for the self-financing section are appointed through a process similar to that followed for the aided section.
  • Eligibility criteria are based on the UGC guidelines.
  • Vacancies are officially notified, and eligible candidates are invited for interviews.
  • The interview panel includes the Chairman of the Governing Body, the Principal, and a Subject Expert.
  • Selection is based on UGC scoring guidelines, and appointments are made according to the rank list prepared after the interview.
Appt. of Non-Teaching Staff
  • Non-teaching staff appointments follow a process similar to that used in the aided section.
  • Eligibility criteria are based on Government of Kerala guidelines.
  • Vacancies are announced publicly, and shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews.

  • The interview panel includes the Chairman of the Governing Body, the Principal, and a teacher nominated by the Governing Body.
  • Appointments are made based on interview performance and ranking.

Service Benefits

01. Salary of Teaching Staff

  • Salary is determined by the Governing Body based on the guidelines of the Government of Kerala and the University of Calicut.
  • Teachers with a PhD qualification may receive a special salary package.
  • Annual increments are provided after completing one year of service.
  • Teachers who complete 12 months of continuous service are eligible for vacation salary if they continue their service in the institution.

02. Salary of Non-Teaching Staff

  • Salary is fixed by the Governing Body according to Government of Kerala guidelines.
  • Annual increments are provided after completing one year of service.

03. Festival Allowance

  • All teaching and non-teaching staff receive a festival allowance during the Onam season.

04. Leave Benefits

  • Teaching staff: 15 casual leaves per year.
  • Non-teaching staff: 20 casual leaves per year.
  • Not more than two leaves can be taken in a month.
  • Female teachers are eligible for one year maternity leave (LWA).
  • Male teachers are eligible for 5 days of paternity leave.

Financial Assistance for Seminars and Conferences
  • Teachers may receive financial support to attend seminars, workshops, and conferences. This may include registration fees or travel expenses, as approved by the management.

  • Teachers may also receive financial assistance to join professional bodies, including support for membership fees.
