Research and PG Department of Chemistry, IQAC of MES Kalladi college, Mannarkkad conducted programme on Hiroshima Day, 6th August 2025 by 10:30 AM at Thunjan Auditorium . The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Mohammed Musthafa T N., Head of the Department of Chemistry and the Department co-ordinator Dr. Ajay Ajith. The programme was started by an inaugural session and the programme was inaugurated by Dr.C. Rajesh, Principal MES KC. Dr. Mohammed Musthafa T N welcomed the gathering and both them introduced the need of remembering the Hiroshima. Students fromUG and PG attended the programme. Mr. Ajash and Ms. Shaziya from2nd year B.Sc. Chemistry delivered a short lecture on Hiroshima Day. Discussed about the issues between the countries for using little boy. How the atomic bomb adversely affected the Japan and how they over come from it. Mr. Afnan and Shenhan from 33rd year BSc Chemistry prepared a still model of little boy and explained the functioning of the same. Students from1st year B.Sc. Chemistry prepared posters and exhibited it on the same day. A total of 20 posters were presented.

International Tiger Day (July 29)-Digital Poster Presentation Competetion

As part of the observance of International Tiger Day, which is globally commemorated on July 29th every year, a special program was organized on 6th August 2024 by the Department of Botany and the Department of Zoology, in association with the Bhoomitra Sena Club and the Biodiversity Club. The program featured a Digital Poster Presentation Competition aimed at raising awareness about tiger conservation and the ecological importance of this apex predator. The event was conducted at Science Block.

Life skill development-Assertiveness Training

The Life Skill Development Program aims to equip students with essential personal and social skills through focused training in assertiveness, communication, and interpersonal relationships. The session begins with an introduction and icebreaker to create a comfortable learning environment. The communication skills segment enhances both verbal and non-verbal communication, including tone, clarity, active listening, body language, and eye contact, supported by interactive pair exercises. The interpersonal skills segment develops trust, empathy, understanding of personality differences, and conflict resolution abilities through group activities and problem-solving challenges. By the end of the program, participants will be able to express themselves confidently and respectfully, communicate effectively, and build healthy, positive relationships in personal, academic, and professional contexts.

Research and PG Department of Chemistry conducted bridge course for first year BSc students (2025-admission) from 21/07/2025 to 28/07/2025 in various subjects. The Bridge Course is thoughtfully designed to support students in transitioning smoothly into a new academic environment, curriculum, or subject area. Its primary objective is to bridge the gap between students' prior knowledge and the expectations of their current academic level. By reinforcing foundational concepts, the course aims to enhance students’ understanding, boost their confidence, and ensure a more seamless adaptation to the new academic framework. The series commenced with an inaugural session led by Dr. Mohammed Musthafa T. N., who provided a comprehensive introduction to the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP). His session laid the groundwork for students by explaining the structure, objectives, and benefits of the new academic framework. Following the inauguration, various faculty members took charge of the subsequent sessions, each focusing on different topics covered in the syllabus. These sessions were tailored to familiarize students with the core subjects, clarify key concepts, and provide a solid foundation for the academic journey ahead. Overall, the Bridge Course served as an essential orientation tool, equipping students with the academic preparedness and confidence needed to thrive in their new learning environment.
