Programme Overview

B.Sc. Chemistry Honours

The B.Sc. Chemistry Honours syllabus (CUFYUGP 2024) is structured over 6–8 semesters with 133 credits in three years. It begins with core courses such as Inorganic Chemistry I and Physical Chemistry (States of Matter), followed by Theoretical Chemistry (Quantum Chemistry) and Organic Chemistry. Advanced topics include thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry, spectroscopy, and statistical thermodynamics.

Students choose electives like Green Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Polymer Chemistry, and Industrial Chemistry. The programme also includes multidisciplinary courses (Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry in Daily Life), skill enhancement courses, and an internship in Semester 6.

Laboratory practicals are mandatory, and the final stage includes a project or research component, ensuring both academic and practical competence.
