Programme Overview

B.Voc Dairy Science & Technology Honours

The B.Voc Dairy Science and Technology programme is a skill-oriented course designed to provide practical and industry-relevant knowledge in the dairy and food processing sector. The curriculum covers key areas such as dairy production, milk processing, quality assurance, dairy microbiology, dairy chemistry, food safety, dairy engineering, and value-added dairy products.

A major highlight of the course is its strong emphasis on experiential learning through laboratory training, industrial visits, internships, and project-based activities. The programme adopts a student-centric and outcome-based approach, integrating theory with hands-on practice to enhance technical competence and employability.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) of the Kerala State Board or any other equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics are eligible for admission. 

Vocational Higher Secondary students are also eligible for admission to the B.Voc Dairy Science and Technology programme.Such candidates must have specialization in subjects like Agro Machinery & Power Engineering, Agriculture Science & Processing Technology, Dairy Technology/Science, Agri Business & Farm Services, Marine Fisheries & Sea Food Processing, Dairy Processing Equipment Operator (DPEO), or Dairy Farmer Entrepreneur (DFE).

Operate and manage dairy processing equipment, cold chain systems, and packaging technologies.

Perform quality control, microbiological, and chemical testing of milk and dairy products as per FSSAI and BIS standards.

PSO4

Implement effective food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices in dairy processing environments.

Plan, develop, and market dairy-based food products with a focus on health, nutrition, and sustainability.
