B.A History Honours

The BA History Honours Programme under the CUFYUGP Regulations 2024 is a multidisciplinary and flexible undergraduate programme designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of history across local, national, and global contexts. The curriculum integrates core courses in Indian, Kerala, and World history with interdisciplinary components such as minor courses, skill enhancement courses, value-added courses, and internships.

The programme emphasizes the development of critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and research skills through the study of historical sources, historiography, and methodological approaches. It also incorporates emerging areas like digital documentation, archaeology, and applied history. Students are trained to interpret historical events, understand cultural diversity, and evaluate contemporary issues from a historical perspective.

With options for electives, projects, and research pathways, the programme prepares learners for higher studies, research, and diverse career opportunities while fostering ethical values, social responsibility, and lifelong learning.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates  who have Passed (Eligible for Higher Studies)the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination   recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission.
