Programme Overview

BA ARABIC AND ISLAMIC HISTORY (DOUBLE MAJOR) HONOURS

The B.A. Arabic Language and Literature Honours programme, introduced under the FYUGP 2024 framework, is a comprehensive and multidisciplinary course designed to develop advanced proficiency in Arabic language and literature. The curriculum integrates core areas such as Arabic grammar, syntax, spoken Arabic, prose, poetry, drama, rhetoric, and literary criticism, along with the study of classical, medieval, and modern Arabic literature.

A key feature of the programme is its flexible academic pathways, allowing students to combine major, minor, or vocational courses, including translation studies and language proficiency. The programme also emphasizes skill enhancement through ICT-enabled learning, academic writing, and practical components such as internships and projects.

With a strong focus on communication skills, critical thinking, research orientation, and digital competence, the programme prepares students for higher studies, translation careers, teaching, media, and global employment opportunities.


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have successfully completed Higher Secondary education (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board, as per university regulations.
